Deputy Minister of Human Settlements, Ms Pam Tshwete, accompanied Gift of the
Gift of the Givers delivered 119 food parcels and blankets to Bronville in Welkom to flood affected families. Distribution was supervised by Dr Yacoob Vahed, one of the volunteers of Gift of the Givers.

During December and early January there were a number of severe storms that hit areas in Northern KZN. Between the areas of Nitinini, Nkandla and uMsinga these storms have left many homes partially or completely damaged.
In partnership with the disaster management of each area - we have identified the homes of people who have lost all their belongings in the storm.
Gift of the Givers responded
Gift of the Givers responds to the devastated fire victims in Overberg. We served a hot meal and delivered Water, Mattresses, Carpets and Blankets.
Energade, energy bars and hot meals were handed over to the firefighters putting out the blaze in the mountain area.
Gift of the Givers recently assisted residents in the Pietermaritzburg area following a chemical spill.
We delivered 2700 x 5lt bottles of water. Many people needed water for their animals. The Willowton Group donated 6 Jojo water tanks which the Gift of the Givers team set up in priority areas of need.
Gift of the Givers assisted the fire victims of zone O in Kylami, Stellenbosch. 20 families lost all there belongings and Gift of the Givers arrived with food parcels, blankets and water.
Gift of the Givers responded to 32 families at the Cyril Ramaphosa informal settlement near Reiger Park, Boksburg. Their homes were destroyed by heavy rains and winds and after an appeal made by Pastor Steven of the New Beginnings Care Centre our team delivered vegetables, groceries, sweets and juice to the church where the now homeless victims were being housed.
Dr Block Senior Secondary faced a tragedy when a section of their hostel caught fire. 30 learners lost all their belongings inclusive of their uniforms, books and stationery.

Gift of the Givers delivered 200 boxes of much needed water to Wupperthal in the Western Cape as the town is left without water since the fire. Also delivered was food parcels, mattresses, Henties juice and blankets.
