Mr Moatshe, a double amputee, from Lonelypark near Mafikeng was very happy to receive a new wheelchair from Gift of the Givers.

04/02/2019 - Manickum Munisamy

60 year old Manickum Munisamy from Richard's Bay received a wheelchair from Gift of the Givers. Sadly a blister on his toe eventually led to gangrene and subsequent amputation of Mr Munisamy's leg.

01/2019 - 16 Year Old, Keanu

Geraldine cried tears of joy as she watched us unpack her son's wheelchair from the car.

16 year old Keanu, totally dependent on his mother was being carried to hospital visits, and over the last 4 years he's just become too heavy for Geraldine. The new wheelchair, she says, is a prayer answered.

Gift of the Givers brought with a food parcel and adult diapers.

Marinus to break World Jet Ski Record on Mandela Day

Marinus du Plessis leaves for Norway today at 13h50. In honour of Mandela Day, the Ubuntu spirit of South Africa and in his endeavour to raise awareness and  support of individuals who are physically and mentally challenged and autistic worldwide, Marinus will attempt to break the world jet ski record of 3000km on Mandela Day, 18 July. Michelle Naran, Gauteng

Michelle Naran from Gauteng had a hip operation 3 years  ago but sadly took a fall 2 weeks ago which resulted in 3 of the screws falling out.She was unable to walk and moved around on an office chair seen in the pictures below.

Michelle lives with her mom (93) and uncle (74) whom she took care of before the incident.

1. Frances Mthembu (58) lost his leg after a car accident in 2007. He couldn’t contain his happiness and wept with tears of joy when he received his wheelchair.

2. Affectionately known as Gogo Ndlovu, the 76 year old from Ndwendwe received her wheelchair from Gift of the Givers after having to share a wheelchair with her neighbour for clinic visits and collections of grant.

On 31 January, the Gift of the Givers team delivered 3 wheelchairs to recipients in KZN.
 

45 year old, Thandeka Ndwalane from Phoenix who suffers with her spine.
74 year old, Rajen Rahautar from Verulem who requires permanent use of an oxygen machine.
85 year old, Daupathy Govender from Tongaat who also has spinal issues.

Rev NK Vilakazi and the congregation thanked Gift of the Givers for the new wheelchair for Mrs Betty Malehe. She is staying with her husband, daughter and two grand children. She suffered a stroke and  cannot walk. Betty relies on her daughter to collect her medication.

Yonela has Tourette syndrome that affects the central nervous system and causes chronic constant jerking and twitching of the body.
